Culmen is looking for a talented, diligent IT Systems Administrator to maintain and administer a projects' networked system of computers. The candidate will administer the IT systems and portals, and provide technical support for issues related to computers, software, and other technology while implementing effective solutions. The ideal candidate has an excellent ability to solve problems using an in-depth understanding of information systems and computing solutions. They will also be team players, willing to handle all support requests with courtesy and professionalism.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff seeking technical assistance over the phone or via email.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Ensure that IT solutions are configured for the proper storage and handling of CUI, PII, and PHI data.
  • Keep record of events, problems, and their resolution.
  • Install new software and hardware components.
  • Provide basic computer training.
  • Educate coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the company’s computer network.
  • Ensure data at rest, data in transit, and hardware meet FIPS 140-2 encryption requirements
  • Perform basic computer maintenance.
  • Follow up with staff, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
  • Work independently, react to change productively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned while exercising a high level of confidentiality.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
  • Possess CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates full understanding of NIST compliance, preferably working with NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Managerial experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to successfully clear a background check.
  • Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.
  • Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
