Culmen is looking for a Trainer, Training Director, Training Specialist, and Senior Training Specialist to support an upcoming Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) mission. These positions may require working extended hours, weekends, holidays, and being on-call.

Roles & Responsibilities

Trainer

  • Support and mentor new and current employees.
  • Create, identify, and attend workshops that will enhance professional skills.
  • Become a certified instructor for First Aid/CPR, and obtain other certifications as deemed appropriate by program management.
  • Ensure training materials and sites are organized and prepared prior to scheduled trainings.
  • Liaise with program management to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
  • Facilitate information as needed for reports and audits.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with state, federal, and organizational training requirements.
  • Maintain confidential access to employee training records.

Training Director

 

  • Use performance reviews and skills gap analysis to identify training needs per department, team and individual.
  • Plan training programs based on business goals.
  • Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training.
  • Oversee learning activities, curriculum, and resources.
  • Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting organizational needs and improving performance.
  • Manage quarterly and annual training budgets.
  • Evaluate the results of learning courses.
  • Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, trainers, and management.
  • Recommend new training methods.

Training Specialist

 

  • Create and design training programs that align with the required training curriculum and ensure they cover the necessary knowledge and skills required for employees at different levels.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, workshops, and seminars for new hires, ensuring that the training activities are well-structured, engaging, and effective.
  • Create training materials, manuals, presentations, and other resources to support the training programs, incorporating best practices and industry standards.
  • Deliver training sessions to new hires, using various instructional techniques to facilitate learning and knowledge retention. This may involve classroom instruction, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and online learning modules.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance assessments, making necessary adjustments to training materials and methods based on feedback and results.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and department managers to gather information about training needs and requirements.
  • Communicate with new hires, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth training process.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new training techniques, and emerging technologies., continuously improving training programs and methodologies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Senior Training Specialist

 

  • Assist in tracking, managing, and updating employee training records.
  • Purchase necessary training supplies, equipment, and certifications.
  • Create a training schedule for new employees.
  • Support training compliance by analyzing data, creating completion reports, and communicating progress of training initiatives.
  • Enroll learners in courses and track completion and compliance.
  • Ensure Trainers are up-to-date with their required certifications.
  • Communicate with program leadership to determine training needs.
  • Create and facilitate presentations for trainings and orientations.
  • Coordinate training initiatives, ensure timely completion, and provide project status updates as requested.

Basic Qualifications

Trainer

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education, Business or related field.
  • Excellent Public Speaking skills.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth, preferably in an ORR setting.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to successfully clear a background check.
  • Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.
  • Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Training Director

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Training Director, Training Manager, or similar role.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to successfully clear a background check.
  • Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.
  • Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Training Specialist

  • Excellent Public Speaking skills.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth, preferably in an ORR setting.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to successfully clear a background check.
  • Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.
  • Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

  • Fluent in Spanish
