The Census Specialist is responsible for providing up-to-date information regarding youth headcount. They are to provide documentation with arrival and departure dates and time to ensure accurate numbers are always reported. They will maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and are subject to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Gather accurate and current information on the number of unaccompanied minors residing in the influx care facility. This involves regular monitoring and tracking of headcounts.

· Compile and maintain comprehensive reports detailing the demographic information, trends, and changes in the unaccompanied minor population within the facility. These reports may include data regarding age, gender, nationality, length of stay, and other relevant metrics.

· Ensure the accuracy of the collected data by cross-referencing with UC Portal records and collaborating with the Line of Sight Director and/or upper management.

· Work closely with other departments, agencies, and organizations involved in the care and support of unaccompanied minors, sharing information, and coordinating efforts to ensure all parties have access to accurate data.

· Adhere to data protection protocols and confidentiality requirements, ensuring that sensitive information about unaccompanied minors is handled securely and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

· May serve as the point of contact for inquiries regarding the unaccompanied minor population, providing accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication skills are essential for relaying data and addressing any concerns or questions.

Basic Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth, preferably in an ORR setting.

· Must be computer literate.

· Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.

· Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.

· Possess a valid Driver’s License.

· Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.

· Ability to successfully clear a background check.

· Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.

· Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.

· Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
