Culmen International is seeking a highly skilled mid-level Project Manager II to join their team on a full-time basis, focusing on the management and implementation of international radiological security projects at the National Nuclear Security Administration in the Department of Energy. This is a hybrid role with up to three days a week in office in Washington D.C. Must live within commuter distance of Washington D.C.
This role is part of a critical program within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), specifically under the Office of Global Material Security, in the Office of Radiological Security (ORS). The ORS is dedicated to enhancing radiological security both domestically and internationally, operating in over 80 countries. Their mission includes protecting radioactive sources used in medical, research, and commercial applications; removing and disposing of radioactive sources that are no longer in use; and reducing global reliance on high-activity radioactive sources by promoting viable alternative technologies. To achieve these goals, ORS collaborates with a diverse array of stakeholders, including industry representatives, foreign governments, state and local governments and first responders, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and industry associations. ORS also engages in extensive outreach activities to raise awareness about its programs and garner support for its mission and strategies.
The Project Manager II will play a crucial role in supporting ORS federal staff by managing and overseeing assigned domestic or international projects and portfolios. Ideal candidates should possess a strong background in fields such as international affairs, national security, public policy, communications, or related disciplines. This position requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on project management to ensure the successful execution of ORS initiatives.

The determination of compensation at Culmen International, LLC is based on various factors such as location, the individual's unique combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, clearance level, experience, internal equity, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,000 – $140,000 annually. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Culmen's total compensation package for employees.
