About the Role

Culmen International is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Toxicologist 3 to join our team. The position may be in the role of Supervisory Analytical Toxicologist/Analyst, or Technical Director.

 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

  • Performs analyses on biological specimens
  • Serves as subject matter expert to the military drug testing community as well as the AFMES postmortem mission.
  • Lead research and analytical projects, supervise and review data of junior personnel, schedule personnel and equipment resources, introduce ideas for method development based on analytical challenges experienced within AFMES and the postmortem/human performance drug testing community
  • Implement research and method development ideas post completion
  • Serve as an expert in the area of Forensic Toxicology for AFMES and for the Department of Defense (DoD) Drug Testing Program.
  • Provide screening and confirmation data, quantitative data, full scan mass spectra, corrective action measures, SOP revisions, SOP Updates, SOP improvements, chair research teams, participate (as an analyst) in research programs, develop, complete and implement research improvements and perform all special testing as directed by laboratory management
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant for the DoD Military Drug Testing Program
  • May supervise the work of all contractor analysts and should be capable of performing full scientific review of all test data, and of acting for the laboratory chief in the chief's absence

Required Qualifications

  • PhD degree in toxicology, biochemistry or the physical or biological sciences from an accredited university
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in forensic toxicology; or, have a master’s degree in toxicology, biochemistry, chemistry or the physical or biological sciences from an accredited university and at least four (4) years’ experience in forensic toxicology
  • A person with the title of supervisory toxicologist must have sufficient training and experience to be familiar with all administrative and testing procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in filing techniques; preparing and editing technical or general documentation using various software packages such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and Windows; transcription of documents, data entry, and related casework files
