Culmen International is hiring a Study Physician who will serve as the Deputy Head of the WRAIR AFRIMS Laboratory in Manila, Philippines.
Culmen International is providing support for clinical site management and in-country clinical research operations and scientific laboratory support for surveillance, epidemiology, and intervention studies, sample collection, and laboratory testing in field sites located across Southeast Asia in coordination with the offices and personnel in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Study Physician will provide the necessary qualified scientific, technical, and administrative personnel to support research, administration, project management, and logistics for viral disease, bacterial, and parasitic disease research.

MD or PhD in a relevant field such as medicine, public health, virology, microbiology, or related biomedical sciences.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical or laboratory-based research, public health programs, or related scientific settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance in clinical trials or observational studies.
Proven experience in study coordination, subject enrollment, and regulatory documentation for research protocols.
Experience in supervising or mentoring research or clinical staff.
Strong understanding of quality assurance/quality control practices in clinical or laboratory environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap, OpenClinica).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work independently in a dynamic research environment.
Willingness to travel to field sites within the Philippines as required.
Commitment to upholding occupational health and safety standards and promoting a safe work environment.
Previous experience working with or coordinating activities involving the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) or other government/military health institutions.
Familiarity with AFRIMS protocols and procedures.
Experience supporting multi-site or international research projects.
Working knowledge of IRB processes and research ethics in the Philippines.
Ability to contribute to scientific reports, presentations, or publications.
