About the Role

Culmen International is hiring a Sr. R&D Strategist to provide support for the Research Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and will be onsite in Springfield, VA.

Experience providing strategic planning, technical, programmatic and business process support to a Research organization of similar scope to NGA Research, either within the IC, DoD, or NGA partner organizations.

 

The Sr. Strategist will support NGA Research’s mission to be a premier R&D organization with the unique focus of leading GEOINT research. NGA Research is responsible for performing scientific research and transitioning innovative concepts and capabilities to solve NGA, NSG, Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG), IC, and DoD hard problems. NGA Research requires support staff who can assist in the day-to-day coordination and data management that support these activities.

 

 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

  • Demonstrate experience providing strategic planning, technical, programmatic and business process support to a Research organization of similar scope to NGA Research, either within the IC, DoD, or NGA partner organizations.
  • Demonstrate leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to distill and collate key technical and programmatic details for science and engineering concepts related to GEOINT.
  • Ability to provide strategic level analysis and advice on new concepts, new programs, and existing efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering
  • and BA/BS in military history, political science, government
  • Or at least five years of experience serving in a similar role in a Research organization within the IC, DoD, or with an NGA partner such as DARPA, DOE Lab, USDR&E, Joint Staff, Military Service Staff, ODNI, Combatant Command Staff, Major Command Staff, or any US Government intelligence, acquisition, or operations unit staff.
  • Greater than or equal to 15 years of work experience.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Government military or civilian experience in the National Security Council, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Offices of the Secretaries of the Military Services, Joint Staff, Military Service Staffs, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, or an intelligence agency.
