About the Role

Culmen International is hiring a qualified Research Nursein Cambodia to provide scientific and technical services to an international Department of Defense medical contract.

 

The objective of this contract is to provide clinical site management and in-country clinical research operations and scientific laboratory support for surveillance, epidemiology, and intervention studies, sample collection, and laboratory testing in field sites located across Southeast Asia. This effort is a cooperative and collaborative project involving committed partner countries to include the United States.  

 

 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

The Research Nurse will be part of the medical team supporting Bacterial and Parasitic Disease Research and Viral Disease ResearchThe Research Nurse will be directly interfacing with governmental and technical subject matters experts across the medical spaceTravel is anticipated within the country and in key Southeast Asian countriesEstimated about 15% travel.  

 

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Aid in identifying and enrolling participants for different surveillance efforts in Cambodia. 
  • Oversee patient care during clinical and research trials, tests, and experiments. 
  • Prepare trial protocols and other trial-related documentation. 
  • Responsible for the daily management of a research program, preparing research protocols and generating research documentation. 
  • Provide assistance in the generation of quarterly, and annual bacterial and parasitic disease reports, as needed. 
  • Ensure that clinical research studies and protocols are in compliance with USG and local policies and regulations. 
  • Maintenance of the centralized database and a summary of participation in the experimental design of current and new research projects, processing of specimens, and performance of laboratory assays for all related projects  
  • Interface with local health care delivery centers (such as local clinics, Provincial Health Office and/or hospitals) conducting malaria and other infectious disease clinical research study execution.  
  • Support the non-technical project management team with all scientific and technical matters which includes in contract deliverables and reports.  

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing degree or equivalent  
  • 5+ years of research experience conducting clinical trials in the area of infectious disease 
  • Active/Unrestricted License to practice medicine in Cambodia 
  • Fluent in both Khmer and English
