About the Role

Culmen International LLC is recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager

to manage accounting and operational processes of Culmen’s Branch office in Lima supporting US Government contracts and its important mission in the region.

 

 

The position is based in Lima, Peru. 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

The Consultant shall perform the following specific tasks:

  • Lead and implement all accounting operations of the Peru branch office, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information.
  • Ensure full compliance with Peruvian accounting, tax, and labor regulations, as well as corporate and contractual policies.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely submission of financial packages to HQ.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures aligned with the office and contract’s needs.
  • Review and approve financial records, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation to ensure completeness and audit readiness.
  • Manage and execute treasury operations including cash flow management, bank reconciliations, transfers, and payment authorizations.
  • Supervise payroll processes, ensuring accurate calculation, compliance, and timely payment of salaries, benefits, and taxes.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax declarations and statutory filings.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and resolution of findings. 
  • Provide strategic financial insights and support to project leadership for decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement-related financial processes, ensuring proper documentation, cost control, and compliance.
  • Support cost proposal development and pricing strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Strengthen financial reporting by implementing dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking tools.
  • Ensure proper management and safeguarding of accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure effective coordination with administrative, HR, and technical teams to support overall project operations.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or registered accountant in Peru (mandatory).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of Peruvian tax and accounting regulations.
  • Experience with international organizations or US-based companies preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred).
  • Strong communication skills in Spanish.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple financial processes simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with international teams.
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly in English.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage and oversee accounting functions strategically.
  • High level of analytical thinking with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly in English.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong coordination with global teams.
