About the Role

Culmen is seeking a C-145 Aircraft Maintenance Field Service Representative (FSR) to support our partner nation's readiness goals.

 

 

This position is based onsite at Moi Air Base in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

Partnership Focus

  • Inspecting aircraft structures, components, and systems; and troubleshooting malfunctions in landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and environmental control systems (ventilation, heating, and cooling), as well as other mechanical components.
  • Applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Conducting preflight, through-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections to ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Reading and interpreting manufacturers’ and airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and the method for repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Performing refueling/defueling operations and mentoring supervisors of jack and tow teams.
  • Providing detailed reports on inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities performed on C-145 aircraft.
  • Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Performing miscellaneous aircraft servicing tasks, including servicing liquid oxygen (LOX), hydraulic systems, engine oil, and aircraft tires.
  • Providing recommendations to improve aircraft maintenance procedures and resolve recurring technical issues.
  • Identifying the spare parts needed to maintain the C-145 fleet and recommending sources to procure them.

Management Control Activities

  • Conduct trend analysis.
  • Perform internal and external process audits.
  • Maintain required documentation and support activities for C-145 aircraft.
  • Audit contractor certifications and authorizations within the Republic of Kenya.
  • Audit the publications and technical orders library.
  • Implement quality control programs.
  • Maintain maintenance logs.
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Oversee life-cycle maintenance management for the C-145.

Required Qualifications

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
  • 5+ years’ C-145 aircraft experience, including airframe, power plant, and electrical systems, using technical data sheets and service bulletins.
  • 5+ years’ experience maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting aircraft.
  • 2+ years’ experience developing and delivering maintenance or logistics training modules to foreign militaries.
  • Eligibility Requirement - US Citizen (This requirement is necessary to meet the security and eligibility requirements for the performance of this contract). 

  • Possess and maintain a US Passport.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be able to travel extensively both domestically and internationally unassisted.

  • Must have a US driver’s license/International Driver’s License or be able to obtain a US driver’s license/International Driver’s license before arrival in the country, and be comfortable driving in the US and partner nation (PN)(Kenya) countries.

     

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous working experience in Kenya.
